Requirements to be a Referral Agent
- You need to be a licensed, Virginia real estate agent and you must transfer your license to Shenandoah Real Estate Referrals, LLC.
We have the necessary State DPOR forms and will coordinate the process.
- You have to agree to not provide real estate services – except for these referrals. The "Referral-only" status is not a State designation,
but an "industry" status that allows you to be associated with a Broker who is a Realtor® without being subject to the various association dues.
Licensees affiliated with SRER shall solely engage in referring clients.
and customers and shall not engage in the normal services of listing, selling, leasing, managing, counseling or appraising real property.
- You will need to participate in the Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance carried by Historic Properties/Fine Homes & Land.
(For 2004 the annual cost per agent was approximately $150.)
- You will need to meet the current State Continuing Education requirements. Under the State statutues you are classified
as "active", therefore, the rules apply. There are numerous avenues for classes these days - on-line courses, correspondence courses, the real estate schools,
and the various associations around the State.

Realtors (NAR)
